Korea Seeks PM's support for Recycling Waste Into Energy

Phnom Penh: The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. PARK Heung-Kyeong, requested the support of the Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen on the project to convert waste into energy by EcoCam.

The request for support came as PARK Heung-Kyeong paid a courtesy call and said goodbye to PM before the end of his term in Cambodia on the evening 19 December 2022.

PM's Assistant, Mr. Eang Sophalleth, told the media that during the meeting, Mr. Pak congratulated PM Hun Sen and the Royal Government of Cambodia for leading ASEAN successfully in 2023.

He noted that during his tenure in Cambodia, he received the support from the Royal Government as well as the Cambodian people, which had further strengthened relations between Korea and Cambodia.

He mentioned the Korean President's visit to Cambodia and the project to build a Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge from the Old Market to the Arey Ksat.

He also requested the support of PM on the project to convert waste into energy of EcoCam.

In response, the Prime Minister Hun Sen, thanked the Korean government for its contribution to Cambodia's development, especially the achievement of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge project from the Old Market to the Arey Ksat.

Regarding the project to convert waste into energy, PM expressed his support and told Mr. Pak to meet with the Council for the Development of Cambodia to liaise with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Phnom Penh Capital Hall to work on this issue.
